Most of this place is actually a big garden. Not manicured park or well-kept botanical garden. Maybe more like a state park forest. It's an EASY 3/4 mile paved walk to the falls. I have thought for over a year about posting this review. Because I liked our 3 night stay at Waimea. But something happened that left me aghast. The best cottages seem, from the porches, indeed wonderful, view of the water, charming, etc. (I was never inside one, so read what others have to say.)
