Traveller Reviews on Tumon

Royal Orchid Guam Hotel

3 of 5 stars
San Francisco
13 Nov 2009

The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel, yet it appeared more like an average Days Inn 2 star motel to me. It mainly caters to Japanese tourists. First the good points: It was in a great location, near the beach and the Tumon strip. It was about 1 block from Tumon's gay club, which was also a plus.... more

I was deciding between the Hyatt and the Hilton. I know that the Hyatt is usually a step up from the Hilton, but we received such a good deal at the Hilton, that we chose to stay there. We were very impressed. Most of what I read on here was inaccurate. First, we booked the lowest scale room and ended... more

On first arriving, I thought Tumon seemed like Hawai'i, albeit a little more rundown and with more Asian tourists. I'm sad to say, I visited Hawai'i shortly after and realized I was wrong. Tumon is pleasant enough, but it's all pretty old and devoid of culture. The beaches seem nice, but when a Kmart is one of the biggest draws... more

I stayed here overnight on a business trip. It's right across the street from the beachfront hotels. Not the nicest hotel, but it was well-kept and nicely furnished. more

Hilton Guam

I've stayed at this hotel 4 times over the last 6 years, but this last stay was disappointing. Construction and poor service was the standard. Not up to the Hilton name. Maybe when the construction is complete it will be better -- but for now, stay clear. They maintain the nicest pools in area, but the place was poorly managed... more

Spa Bali Guam

24 Oct 2009

My wife and I had a weeklong getaway to Guam. Some friends had told us about this great place called Bali Spa. Our third day there we finally visited for massages...this place is great. From the moment you walk in you begin to get the Bali experience. The staff is all from Bali and give real Balinese massages and other... more

Fiesta Resort Guam

Our room is at 5th floor and the ocean view is great, but a little bit affected by the plam tree outside. If stay at higher floor will be excellent!! The location of this hotel is at the central of tumon bay, that means you will have a central view of the bay, just like it's surronding you. Every facility... more

I stayed here with a group of colleagues on business, so did not have the luxury of a choice in hotels. This hotel is in such poor condition, that the only explanation could be that the owners are just waiting for the right typhoon to come by to justify improvements. The only salvation for this operation is the generally pleasant... more

Tarza Magical Adventure Zone and Water Park

I highly recommend that you don't spend your money on the hotels that advertice their own water parks. Instead go to Tarza for a day. It is within walking distance from the Tumon hotels and is a great place to spend the entire day; the food is pretty good too. more

I spent a lot of time researching hotels before our trip; unfortunately, all the reviews had similar complaints about all the hotels. This hotel is in Tumon; it is definitely the best beach on the island. This area consists of a long strip of hotels with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The check-in is smooth, the staff... more

I'm not sure why there have been so many negative reviews. I found the Hyatt Guam to be outstanding. Everyone I encountered was exceptional (kudos to bellman Harry for helping me get a package back home). The pool area is beautiful and probably great for kids. Nice beach access with snorkel gear and beach items available. Easy walk to restaurants... more

We had a great time at Marriott. The room was very clean and hotel staff very friendly. Contrarily to other comments I have read, there were no mold on the walls. Room was super clean. Also we asked several time for services to hotel staff (bathrobe, band-aid...), they were very quick and helpful. Hotel is located right next to the... more

The only thing good about this hotel is the price! Do not go to this hotel...if you are looking for a cheaper hotel, I recommend Days Inn, for they have $99 monthy rates for 2 night stays. The service at Pacific Bay Hotel is ridiculous. They do not like to give pillows if you are missing one, new towels because... more

We selected the Hilton because we understood it to be the most "American" of the hotels (since Guam is primarily a Japanese tourist destination). Unfortunately, when I asked the concierge how I could find some of the World War II relics (pillboxes, gun emplacement) still apparently on the Hilton premises, I soon learned that neither she, nor the man standing... more

The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The shower had mold where the caulking was around the glass doors. There were two things I did not like. 1) I went down to the pool area three days and there were no towels. I complained and finally towels were available, not sure what that was all about. 2) The bar area:... more

My home away from home for almost 6 years of travel to Guam. The staff and I have somewhat become friends. Always a warm, “Welcome home”. What this hotel lacks in newness, it makes up for in hospitality and warmth. Every stay has been a memorable experience. This island and hotel hold many memories for me. When on Guam, there... more

I just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel. I was originally booked at the Marriott, but changed to the HIlton after reading the TripAdvisor reviews. My room rate was $140 which included breakfast. I was in the main (older?) tower, in a King room. The reservation was for a garden view, but I also had a nice... more

We did not stay in this hotel as we have a relative who has a house in the area but we went there for lunch. The food is great and the staff were friendly. The hotel itself is not that big compared to other Hilton hotels, but the location is very good. The ocean view from the restaurant is beautiful... more
