We stayed for the location and loved the view. The room was clean and the resturant was excellent. We only stayed one night and wouldn't stay for more than a couple of nights. I thought I'd add my two cents to these reviews since a lot of people have criticized the Far View Lodge and advocated staying in Cortez. Balcony House

We saw several highlights of the cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde, and this was my favorite -- my kids' (ages 11 and 8) too. Be forewarned it involves climbing ladders, stairs and squeezing through narrow crevices.
