“Great food, not much choice and very poor service.”

The food was excellent, but there was not much choice on the menu especially if you have children. The service was very poor and the attitude of the waitress was appauling! When the manager appeared he was very helpful. more

Lovely location on a hilltop about a 10 minute drive from Waitomo -- on the first day, we could see all the way to the mountains in Tongariro National Park over 100km to the south. I have just stayed two nights here and it was fantastic. The rooms are neat and tidy. The bed was very comfortable with nice plump pillows. The "welcome book" has fantastic ideas for activities, food places and personal recommendations on each. The hosts, Colin and Janet are wonderful people and felt very comfortable talking with them.
