Crown Hotel

We stayed here to attend a friend's wedding and chose the hotel based purely on price as it was the least expensive of all that were recommended. Genuinely I'm so surprised at the other reviews as our experience was fantastic- for the money we paid, our expecations were exceeded by a mile. The staff were, without exception, extremely friendly and... more

Food was ok, although the veg was stone cold. Somehow they managed to mess up a John Smith's, beer was cloudy and served in quite possibly the filthiest pint glass I've ever seen more

It is a small, modern and smart indiand restaurant and lounge bar with a great service. The food was very good, I don't like indian food much but I liked tere. They also have the indian shisha to smoke, and they do cocktails, the music is indian and is very good. They also have a terrasse if u want to... more

Over the last two years my daughter and I have been doing the Madam Tussaud's group of theme parks that have included Legoland, Alton Towers, Chessington and now Thorpe Park. Its become something of a quest to these parks together and she wanted bragging rights at school as her class mates have only done Alton Towers. We had a BOGOF... more

I am not sure if the OP has actually eaten here recently or posted out of spite? I have eaten here many times and the service is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful, wines are great never had a bad one. Great atmosphere during the summer when windows are open and everyone is happy. Food has always been good, if... more

We have eaten here several times, and have been to a couple of the themed music evenings. Caspari has a welcoming atmosphere, the service is excellent , the food has always been of a high standard and the menu is varied. Wine (my favourite is the Montepulciano) and champagne are not over priced. I would recommend this restaurant for both... more

It's many years since I went and I'm surprised this place is still open. The service was poor and the food nothing special at all. I would have rated one star but my companions didn't think it was so bad. more

I am a huge fan of rollercoasters so I was looking forward to 'Stealth' 0-80 in 2 seconds.... To find when I went to the queue that it was closed. The reason? The ride was overheating. I wasn't going on the ride after I heard that! Another rollercoaster called 'Rush' was closed. I don't think it's worth the money and... more

Stayed twice in January this year. The first time I stayed in a large room on the front of the hotel. The room was freezing when I arrived and it took the heating a good hour to get the temperature up. Poor housekeeping if they knew I was booked in but preferred to cut costs by not pre heating a room.... more

Used this Hotel as it was convenient for purpose of visit. While overall things were fine i.e. staff were helpful (although a little forgetful at times) rooms were for the most part clean and very comfortable, price was good and the general athmosphere was welcoming and friendly it would have been nice if the attention to room cleaning was better.... more

I have visited the Thorpe park for the halft term holidays beginning this year. I have bought the tickets online in advance online to avoid a queu at the entrance, but unfortunately i wasn't the only one with this idea. The queu at the unattractive and odd ticket pick up box office was 3 times longer as the normal one.... more

I stayed at the hotel early October 2007. When I left the hotel at about 7pm I asked the receptionist, "does the air-con (situated under rooms windows) get turned off later" and she told it was at about 11pm. When I returned at about midnight, the air-con unit was still operating and save for a 15 minute break, at about... more

OK if you want to use public transport there is a frequent bus from staines station, £3.00 return, and of course frequent trains to London. Remember rides like stealth have a single rider queue which means avoiding long queues as long as you dont like getting wet. the major rides are definitely worth going on. X is really bad, a... more
