My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights either side of doing the Tongariro Crossing hike and thought it was great. Although on a quiet side street, we were very close to the main centre with a supermarket, petrol station and restaurants nearby. The manager who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight and found the management to be friendly and helpful. The pub has trout fishing momentos and books which add to the atmosphere and it is worthwhile having a meal there as it is good value. The rooms are reasonably basic, but comfortable, warm and clean. Pets are allowed outside on the verandah. more
