Had a great time at Shaka Surf camp. The place is brand new. The Cabinas were very comfortable / functional with plenty of storage space, good bedding and remote control A/C. The camp is a very short walk to Playa Hermosa which is a terrific surf site (and not nearly as crowded as St. Teresa). Shaka has a good intimate... more

Back again. This was our fourth visit to Costa Rica & the Backyard Hotel & Restaurant/Bar. I had heard the Halloween Party at the Backyard Hotel was the best in Costa Rica and well worth the trip. So, we walked around town a bit and ended up here without a reservation. There are a lot of new hotels in Playa Hermosa (some even put up within the last couple months), so price competition is definitely entering the area. That said, we stayed at Marea Brava for a price significantly below their book price... Not sure you can... more
