I stayed here for an entire month and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Great food, great fun and totally CHEAP! The women that run it will do anything they can to make sure you are having the tiem of your life. Can't beat the price for being 10 feet away from the Carribean Sea! Amazing lobster and fish for dinner... more

This little town at the far south-west corner of the country is one of the secret of Haiti - an island that has not tourists! Port Salut is very relaxed and safe.....people are usually friendly and welcoming...the road is paved, which is atypical in Haiti and the beach long and white.....the food is ok....it is hard to find a great... more

Whoever has the chance to go to the south (and a good 4WD) should visit Port Salut, the home town of President Aristide. Especially the beaches around like Plage Macaya and a beach a few miles beyond Port Salut (forgot it's name) are among the best in Haiti. Very nice, uncrowded and far off the beaten track.
