This temple was built on sprawling grounds & is surrounded by a lot of soothing greenery. I heard the view is just as spectacular in Summer. There is a purification well, erm, I am not sure what to call it, located after the main hall if you follow the route, or you can just follow the crowd heading that direction....

This was one of my favourites and I wouldn't go to Kyoto without seeing it. The area is quite large and has many beautiful gardens and shrines to see so give yourself plenty of time to take it all in.
