Highly recommended. Charles is the total professional, and the 4WD Land Rover is luxury way of seeing spectacular scenery in this Lord of the Rings wilderness. Thank you Charles for your hospitality, knowledge and the beautiful afternoon tea too (thank you Belinda!). Many thanks from all of us. More

Thanks Rosie it was great to meet your family and share with them a very special part of the Wakatipu region. Every day we have to remind ourselves how fortunate we are to live here. More

Charles picked us up and off we went!!! We were first-timers at this type of tour. Four-wheel driving on a one lane "road" carved into the sides of mountains. After the initial butterflies, and realizing what a great driver Charles was, it was a wonderful adverture for us newbies!! The day included gorgeous scenery, lovely little walks, a great lunch,... Hi Terrie, yes Skippers Canyon is an amazing place full of history and dramatic scenery. I often wondered how someone could get so lost heading into Skippers Canyon thinking they were going to the Gibbston valley wine region...... take all sorts I guess. More

The highlight of our Queenstown adventure! Charles is an unbelievably informed, extremely personable guide. He showed us some amazing places -- pastoral perfection, breathtaking vistas, charming nooks and crannies. He answered every question we had -- even those posed by two precocious ten year olds. He didn't try to entertain us or give us a spiel -- the discourse was... More

Charles was our guide to an introduction to sheep farming as well as to the most beautiful mountain vistas we could imagine. Although scary at times his very reliable vehicle and his knowledge of the terrain made this an experience to remember. Mary Beth and Brian, Chicago,IL More

We knew that we wanted to do a small tour of key areas of the south island of New Zealand but we didn't want the worry of having to deal with a hire car, icy roads or navigating in a foreign country. We didn't want to be stuck on a coach trip with our children and being stuck with lots... More

I did this trip on my last day of a 5 week tour of New zealand : after having seen so many beautiful spots, I did not think it could be any better. But Charles Fraser of RD tours showed me places and views in complete silence which were absolutely stunning. I will not forget "the lunch with a view... More

We had a splendid day trip with Charles visiting Mt. Earnslaw Station, talking about agriculture in Paradise Valley and the surrounding area. Many farmstays and other farm tours may be fun for urban people, but as ranchers we found the owners of Mt. Earnslaw Station informative, interesting, and delightful to talk with about their operation. Charles was also excellent with... More

This is the way to do it - RD Tours arranged five wonderful days for us from Omaru, to Dunedin and Otago Peninsula, then down to all the most beautiful beaches and waterfalls in the Catlins. Guide Charles is astute, articulate, knowledgeable, a good driver and a pleasure to be with. And he found all the best spots for sea... More

In the last week of my stay in New Zealand, I wanted te see some more of the South Island before I would go home. RD Tours made it possible for me to make a two day tour. The first day to the Catlins (to see beautiful nature, waterfalls, sea lions at close range and penguins who came ashore) and... More
