Ok the gardens as well as the castle are far from what they once where due to almost half a century of criminal neglect and war damages. Yet huge amounts of money and and intelligent planning have partialy restored The Reggia di Venaria's past glory: the parc is getting back its immense perspectives and baroque grandeur with views onto the... I don't think anyone can help but be impressed by what is apparently the biggest renovation project in Europe. The palace is absolutely enormous and the gardens are spectacular. I would really like to visit in a couple of years when the vegetation has grown a bit, we visited in Spring and I they could have done with a few... More

Euorpe's biggest conservation and reconstruction project the Reggia di Venaria Reale is a huge palace of the kings of Savoy restored in the last 12 years after abandonment in the 19th century. Fabulous gardens and occasional exhibitions. In January 2011 Leonardo and 150years of Italian fashion. Well worth the trip. Shame the rooms are empty. But great value also if... More

When we visited the Reggia the gardens had working in progress: this meant actually no gardens to visit, only sand everywhere. However no one told us and they made us pay for it! That's not fair! And the staff is quite annoying if you decide to walk back your way and you don't follow the path in the correct direction.... More

You pay 12euros (8 reduced) to visit an huge palace... It is not indeed full of furniture: what you'll admire is the architecture in itself and magnificent stuccos... and the Juvarra great gallery.... fascinating. Well worth a visit; plan it in during spring/summer to enjoy the gardens which are huge.... More

A fantastic palace just on the outskirts of Turin with spectacular gardens. Good internal displays and exhibitions. The only negative was the bad service at the internal bar where the staff hardly evver ventured out to the terrace to find every table needing clearing, chatted amongst themselves whilst cucstomers were waiting to order or pay. This ruined what was otherwise... More

I loved finding out about the history of the Venaria and how it has been rescued from oblivion. The results of the restoration works are astounding! The Palace is a must if you are around Turin. More

I went with some friends to the Venaria, and we had a great time. I absolutely love the gardens and the park surrounding the beautiful palace. It was definitely worth the trip from Turin. More

I went to Visit the Venaria Reale in Turin with some friends and I really enjoyed. This royal palace built by the House of Savoy as a country retreat has been restored beautifully. There is lots to see inside but don't miss the large park and garden around it! More

This is a huge royal palace built by the House of Savoy as a country retreat. Beautifully restored, it boasts also a very large park and garden which is an attraction in and of itself. An absolute must. The palace is easily reached from downtown Turin by bus; there is also a limited, direct coach service: http://www.comune.torino.it/gtt/avvisi/pdf/orari_la_venaria_reale.pdf More
