Having skied Nozawa Onsen and Myoko Kogen in 2010 and now Hakuba and Shiga Kogen and Hakabu in 2012, my wife and I decided that if we were to ski Japan again Shiga Kogen is the place for it, but we'll always have a soft spot for the traditional village atmosphere of Nozawa Onsen. Very intermediate resort. Unfortunately we arrived after it rained. There was enough snow but rain is never good for skiing. Better, lighter snow in Hokaido and the skiing was more interesting.

Good snow cover when we arrived on 30/12/11 and it has only improved with two full whiteout days since.
