The Snow is EPIC! The Onsens are Fabulous! The people are Friendly! And they have a Craft Beer Bar! (The Craft Room) But the best thing about Nozawa Onsen is the proximity of the town to the hill... Forget about taxis and shuttles, everything you want is in easy walking distance from the bottom of the lifts. The most conveniently... More

My favourite place in Japan, not just for Skiing/snowboarding, but to visit in any season. The snow is really good, and if your planning a long stay, other slopes are located very near by and also worth a visit. The local tourist information in Nozawa onsen is good and should be able to help you with any queries about Nozawa... More

We stayed 6 days and had a ball. Lots of snow - the village was very nice , particularily the Onsen experience. We will come back with our children next year. More

Lots of wide, easy runs with plenty of fresh snow day after day. People were very polite and helpful, and the lunch restaurants on the slopes were reasonably priced with plenty of great noodles. More

you only need about 5 days or the skiing gets repetitive but a great addition to a multi stop ski holiday out of Nagano. Ski school has English speaking instructors...our favourite ( and recommended over English instructor was Yama Sensei an older Japanese man with over 33 years in Nozawa, who despite our group being very experienced taught us all... I've only skied here in Japan, but the terrain is limited to what I've skied in Colorado where i've skied most of the resorts.  The village is supposed to be quaint and cute and traditional, but I didn't think it was worth that on it's own.  The snow on the other hand was on the heavy side of powder and... We loved our trip to Nozawa. Snow was great and we felt very welcomed and that this was a small town which knew that its survival depended on skiiers and visitors to the onsen and treated them accordingly. More
