This was probably one of my favourite group experiences in Japan! We stayed the night in the guest house Happy Raft offers, and ended up meeting another group of Canadians there. A group of us came down for a half day white water rafting tour. There were no more accommodations available, so instead we chose (since we live relatively close) to split up between a couple cars and drive down. It's a long, but gorgeous drive, though anyone traveling through Japan via car knows that Expressways are expensive and Bridges, moreso....
