We went to Moravian Karst by public transport. The trip to the sight was very affordable (just one ticket for the metro-train-bus). The caves are really worth a visit. We had two guided tours in two caves.

Situated inside the Moravian Hills, north from Brno, The Macocha cave (translated name: Step Mother, local name Punkva cave) is the most visited out of four caves, being very spectacular due to a combo trail inside: half visiting by walking and half of the visit (about 0.5km long) is made by boat along real “inside rivers” captive inside illuminated stone... What a refreshing and delightful day we've had out at the Moravian kast. We almost decided not to go, as the weather was bleak and transport looked pretty hairy but I'm so glad we put in the effort. The tour and boat trip through the caves was unlike anything I've seen before. Drifting through cavern after cavern of stalegmites Phantom... More

The Moravian Karst is a popular tourist attraction close to Brno city, and large numbers of tourists visit in the summer months. Located ca 10 km to city Blansko. Beautiful caves, Macocha abyss, beautiful nature, very exciting places & landscapes. Moravian Karst encompasses roughly 1100 caverns and gorges (only four caves are available for visitors). The Punkva caves are the... More

The best way to see this area is with a guide like Daniella who took us on a short hike along easy paths so we could see into the steep valleys where the karsts have been formed. Her English is good so she could explain features of the Punka cave. She also provided pick up at our hotel which helped... More

Last week im September we spent in Wien. Having enough shopping trying to get somwhere else. One of my friend likes caves, so we decided to visit Moravian Karst in Czech [close to Brno city]. Unfortunatel there is no lot of info on the web. Finally we find a tour operator from Brno www.moraviatrip.com and go with them. It was... More

I have spent in Moravian Karst one day and it was really refreshing for me and my friends. Beautifull nature and very green place. We were there with www.moraviatrip.com and our guide shows us cave and all interesting place. The Punkva cave is amazing, I have never been on boat trip in cave. It is full of light and water... First of all, lets say that the caves were pretty amazing and that I was glad that I went out of the way a bit to visit them. The scale of some of the chasms is impressive and it was a great change from the countless castles and cathedrals that I visited. The logistics of visiting the caves are daunting... More
