Situated in Great Missenden where Roald Dahl lived for over 36 years, it was created as a home for the author’s archive (which visitors can see on our regular tours) and as a place to inspire creativity and a love of reading in children, about which Roald Dahl was passionate. « less

great exhibits, quirky and clever activities, workshops for children (extra charge) and lovely cafe. Small enough for the children to explore while you have a coffee in the courtyard, but enough to see to spend 4 or 5 happy hours. Good gift shop too. More

WE have visited this place so many times and each visit brings out more and more of his whacky stories. If you like the book you will like the Museum. Sometimes it is difficult to park but there is a public car park about 10 minutes away. Worth taking children of all ages, those that have read the book and... More

... of this wonderful quirky little museum. The kids always love going there and even though it is small, the story reading and things to do there always entertain. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. More

Not very exciting, not much to do, uninspiring. The fabulous imagination of Roald Dahl has not been re-created / met here. More

It is aimed at young children but even for us grown ups it lovely. Plently of activities, lots to see and do and a... More

I have loved Dahl's tales for years. I suppose I should have studied the website properly and seen the museum is not at the house. The museum is just 3 rooms with illustrations and words from Dahl's life plus some stimulus for writing for the children. As for The Twits tearoom, well it was not busy but I have never... More

Really interesting place to go with the kids for a couple of hours. My two are 7 & 9 which is about the right age. It's mostly about the history of Roald Dahl...does have some interactive bits but not loads hence why I would go back on my own so I can actually read everything. Would recommend you only go... More
