the place is very historical in military conflict of Taiwan and China during the 1949 Civil War and late 1950's. So if you are interested in Taiwan wartime history, then this is good place for you. The place is very clean and not polluted, the people are friendly too.
Things i dislike is there is not much information in English...

We decided to catch the hour-long ferry from Xiamen over to the Taiwanese island of Jinmen for the day. You need your passport for this, and also check before travelling whether you need a visa (UK citizens don't). Having tried to research a little information on Jinmen beforehand, but not finding much, we didn't have too much information on where...
