As Scout & Girl Guide Leader here in the UK I am always looking out for good walks, that enable our groups to learn a bit more about the heritage around them, rather then dragging them up hills all the time, with a map and compass!! Recently, as a member of the Invicat Mountaineering Club, UK, I met John Connolly... More

This was our entry into the Irish landscape and Irish culture/history. The walk is gentle with just a bit of climbing and the sights are nothing short of spectacular. Our guide, John Connolly, was especially excellent, his knowledge extensive, and his story telling was simply extraordinary. In a short period time you will walk away from the family farm, past... Really enjoyed the tour of the farm and mountains in the burren. Glad I did it, especially considereing It was just on a whim. The weather is great and the views were fantastic, but the guide John was very helpful and a funny guy too. As well the cakes in his grannys house afterwards were fantastic, I had the rhubarb... And it's like that all the time. The guide (bus driver) knows a lot, but doesn't know how to keep the attention. He talks a lot...and... More

After going to Moher Cliffs and not seeing a thing due to thick fog, I took short guided walk with Burren Wild Tours. Walk was gentle, across mountain and fields. Scenery was stunning and I was quite lucky with the weather in the Burren area. I recommend proper hiking boots, as stones can be slippery and uncomfortable to walk in... More

Paul, our driver, was very knowledgeable and could really spin a good historical tale. And was very funny to boot. How he did it while driving 60-100 km/hr on those tiny roads I'll never know. John Connelly was also excellent on the walking tour of his farm. The kids (19 and 21) were not really into doing this tour, but... More

When you travel around Ireland it often can be hard to get under the skin of Ireland and its people, as most of the time you are hoping from one attraction to the next with no real sence of the real Ireland. I join one of johns guided walks in the Burren geo park and it was exactly what we... More
