This day trip far surpassed our expectations. It was truly amazing. I think it says a lot that a few of the people in our tour group were taking the tour for the fourth time. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke very good English. There are other tour groups bringing groups to visit the Biosphere, but they are all... more

We took a full day tour with Cesiak which was a wonderful way to have a close, personal experience with the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Our guide Antonio was exceptional.....spoke excellent English and was literally a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. His passion and exuberance were contagious! We walked in the jungle as Antonio pointed out plants and insects, including a... more

We went with Sian Kaan community tours (www.siankaantours.org a non profit organisation that puts money back into the conservation of the biosphere) and did the Punto Allen and Muyil Forest tours. The trips were excellent, with the guides having a real passion for the conservation of the biosphere. Their English was good and were able to answer all questions. We... more

Drove to Sian Ka'an intending to rent kayaks. Once we saw the size of the lagoon, we decided to hire a powerboat and guide at the Cesiak Visitors Centre. The price quoted was $85 USD for 2 hours. Our guide spoke English very well and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the plants and animals in the area. We stopped at a... more

The Sian Ka'an Biosphere is a true paradise, it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been, it's white sand beaches and jungle scenary are really unique, stop by the CESIAK visitor's center and enjoy their beach and if, you can take a boat tour, you will be surprised! Also, take a car and go to Punta... more

I contacted them in May 2008 to set up a tour. I really wanted to go on this tour. They contacted me back and told me to confirm the details and then they would send me a link to pay via Paypal. I confirmed the details THREE times, and NEVER received anything further. I tried to contact them for two... more

There are some tour operators that organize visits in the reserve. We went with the cooperative even if they are more expensive, because the money remains with them (and help them stop cutting the trees or hunt in the reserve). We chose their 'Punta Allen Eco-adventure ' because it supposidly included: ' an hour of exploring the amazing underwater world... more

First, I want to say this trip was not a tour. We had our own rented Jeep and read about the drive in a vacation type book. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen, where we rented a villa for ten days which was wonderful. The Mexian ruins are a must see. Driving in to Punta Allen is easy even for... more

We booked through Cesiak in Tulum. My mother is an avid birder so we decided on the afternoon/evening birding tour. We arrived at the Cesiak office and were driven to the Reserve, picking up other visitors along the way. Our first stop was a cenote at the park entrance. We walked in and were told we had only a few... more
