This is a true must-see palace in Germany. It’s very small, but if you can imagine the whole of Versailles packed into eight rooms, that is Linderhof! You do have to take a guided tour, so be careful on your timing - we were there in the spring, so it was no problem to get a tour shortly after we... More

I have been to few palaces all over Europe but this one is a special one, its small yet mesmerising, beautiful decoration and ornments. the gardens, cascades and the pavillions are superb, you could easily spend hald a day there. Definetely worth visiting if you are in Munich for few days. More

Great place to visit. Well organised with timed tickets and guided tours around. It isnt that big inside but it is crammed with 'stuff'. It is like a Versaille in miniature. Every surface is guilt and OTT. The porcelain Meissen flowers are so realistic. The gardens are fantastic. King Ludwig was slightly odd - like his fictional guests for dinner... More

You will find yourself walking into a wonderland when you enter Linderhof Palace and the gardens. The gold water fountain is spectacular, along with the many walkways full of plants, flowers, statutes, and beauty. The grounds are meticulous and amazingly beautiful. I highly recommend visiting Linderhof and the town of Ettal during your visit to Germany. More

Linderhof is the castle that "Mad Ludwig" completed. The exterior is not nearly as spectacular as Neuschwanstein, but the inside will blow your mind. It is easily accessible from Oberammergau (about 30 minutes by inexpensive regional bus). The admission is reasonable -- less than Neuschwanstein -- and includes access to the gorgeous grounds and some of the other crazy stuff... More

The impulsive decision to make a detour and go to Schloss Linderhof was our best during our trip. The Villa-like castle is located in the Alps, surrounded by snowy peaks and green lands. The "castle" itself is small, but there is still so much to see. Ludwig the II's eccentricities seem brighter than day as you take the tour through... More

This smaller palace is so wonderful that most would love to live in it. A wonderful combination of nature and King Ludwig's eccentricities! Not to be missed! Also take the drive from Linderhof through the mountains to Plannsee and Fussen. More
