It is based on three mainstays: RESERCH, EDUCATION AND PRESERVATION. In order to carry out its mission of promoting the study, research, knowledge and communication of all matters related to flora and fauna, fostering a sense of respect for the preservation and restoration of the environment, Temaikèn has:• A Biopark, located in the city of Belén de Escobar: to communicate environmental issues and raise awareness on people, through entertainment and contact with nature.• A Natural Reserve in the Province of Misiones: that works as a “biological shock absorber” for the Teyú Cuaré Provincial Park, extending the protected area of the pristine rainforest. Temaikèn also co-manages 2 Provincial Parks: Cruce Caballero and Araucarias, both part of the Pino Paraná Forest ecosystem, also in the Province of Misiones.• Educational Programs: for the purpose of “Educating to Preserve” Temaikèn provides institutions with its educational programs adapted to school curricula and applicable to all levels of education: Initial, PEB, ESB, High School, Primary School, Secondary School and Special Education. This work is supplemented by Teachers Training Courses and activities with the communities located within the ecosystems under protection or to be protected.• Research and Preservation Programs: Various programs are carried out at the Foundation: Protected Areas, Endangered Species and Marine Biodiversity. These programs comprise the specific Preservation Projects aimed at achieving Temaikèn’s purpose: The Preservation of native species, particularly endangered species. • A Center for Reproduction of Species (CRET): where animal Rehabilitation and Reproduction programs are carried out, supporting both Preservation Programs and the authorities governing the illegal trafficking of animals. These programs focus on rehabilitating animals that are later returned to their habitat as part of various release and reintroduction programs. « less

We visited Temaiken park with our toddler and parents. The park is extremely well organised, very clean and tends to all the visitors' needs. The collection of animals is not exhaustive, but very well presented with thorough information that is fun at the same time. They achieve their goal of showing the different habitats of every continent. Our daughter was... More

We've been living in Buenos Aires almost 6 months and finally made it to the park with friends and I am glad we did. The place is very CLEAN and well kept. It's great for all ages of kids and not so large that it can be covered, quickly, in 1/2 a day. Very well done and a pleasure to... More

Awesome day trip. Went with a 1.5yo and a 5yo and both loved it. Eating is a bit expensive and limited but fine. Animals seem very happy and loved. Very well taken care of. More

For those staying in Buenos Aires, Temaikèn is not a nearby park to go to. It's in another city called Escobar, about two hours from the federal capital. It's however very easy to go. There is a bus at plaza Italia written on the windshield "vamos a Temaikèn" (we are going to Temaikèn). Get to the bus stop early, about... More

This park is well worth the visit. Gardens and enclosures are world class- and a very good variety of animals to see. If the traffic is bad when you get back to the city- hop off the bus and take the subte when you see a stop. More

Temaiken is a beautiful bio-park, very well taken care of with beautiful animals to admire. If you don't have a car you can take the bus in Plaza Italia, it's around 5 U$D roundtrip. You can also purchase the entrance tickets there which are 20U$D. Half price on tuesdays and special prices for kids. This time a year they open... More

My son is a zoo expert so he knew just where to go in Buenos Aires. We had heard that the zoo in town was a bit downtrodden and that the Biopark was world-class. It was true - the animal exhibits were beautifully designed, the grounds were clean and well-organized, the aquarium was wonderful, and the employees were very friendly.... More

We were on vacations in Buenos Aires and decided to give it a try to this Bio Park, located in the city of Escolbar, about one hour drive from BsAs. We went by bus. It's mentioned on the website that a Bio Park is an institution that combines the purposes of Botanical Gardens, Zoos, Aquariums, and Natural History and Anthropology... More

We had a very good time there! It's great for children, we visited the park with our two nieces from 5 and 6 years old and they really enjoyed it! It was also attractive for us, very nice place to be in contact with nature. Everything was clean and tidy, very good facilities. Staff was really kind. The bird's place... More
