I would definitely return to Kata. The main strip is nice and relatively relaxed ... there is a wide variety of food available ... from cheap and cheerful (pizza, thai) to more fancy (Mom Tri's, Boathouse etc) and the variety is great. Just came back from Phuket, and learned how to surf at Kata Beach... so much fun!! What a great beach. Overall Kata is a more upscale and less "crazy" than Patong - by far!!
