- Howard-LiverpoolLiverpool, United Kingdom3,149 contributionsExcellent ExhibitionA superb exhibition again - Flower Fairies - The pictures were brilliant and the explanations to each picture was short and simple and to the point. Excellent simple explanation. Well done Merseyside Museums. Of course a coffee and bacon sandwich in the cafe was also very good.Hi, thank you for leaving a lovely review of your visit with us. We agree, coffee and bacon sandwich goes down a treat after exploring our gallery. Flower Fairies is on until November and there are a lot of activities and events throughout the summer. - Judith HLeicester, United Kingdom182 contributionsMixed exhibitsInteresting gallery with a mix of paintings, ceramics, furniture and sculptures. There was a flower fairies paintings exhibition on which was interesting. The exhibit information is well set out. Mostly on the ground floor. Stairs only to the upper galleries which only house a few exhibits. Stairs or lift to basement with cafe and toilets.Hi, thank you for a great review, its lovely to see you had a great visit to Lady Lever Art Gallery. Flower Fairies is open until November, so plenty of time to pop back and see it before it closes. Our cafe is located on Ground Floor and can also be accessed via our accessible entrance from the outside leading into the shop. Hope this is helpful for your next visit.Written 2 June 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 April 2023

- Jenifer T63 contributionsStunning Art CollectionStunning collection of art works from many different eras and genres. Beautiful light spacious galleries with plenty of seating from where you can sit and enjoy these treasures. Cafe in the basement with small menu but very reasonably priced. Lift up to the galleries if you are less able to climb stairs. Loved the old-fashioned loos with the penny in the slot mechanism still on the doors ( but there is no charge ) Part of Port Sunlight village with lots more to see including small museum, workers cottage and church. Perfect for strolling around admiring the different architectural styles of the housesVisited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 September 2023

Enjoyed the collection and the special exhibit of the fairies but was confused about payment…the museum was free but the special exhibition was £5? The neighborhood around the museum is a utopian community and architecturally interesting.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 3 October 2023
- Ray RAnglesey, United Kingdom159 contributionsWonderful free gallery in a beautiful historic villageFabulous free museum with wonderful collections of paintings by famous artists, furniture, ceramics etc etc. Lovely downstairs cafe. Location unbeatable in beautiful Post Sunlight village with its historic well maintained workers' houses, gardens etc., historic village school, church & an excellent museum across the road. For any Welsh person, the visit is a must to view the well known painting by Sidney Vosper of "Capel Salem".- The Welsh lady wearing a shawl where people believe depicts the image of the devil ! It is the only painting in the whole gallery that is protected by a curtain. The painting was used to advertise the soap made in the village years ago.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 October 2023

Visited the Boodles twice, once in Oct and then again in Nov. Although only a small exhibition, really interesting with some fantastic jewellery. Great to see a local business being exhibited.

Yes definitely! We have Activity Rooms with colouring, story books and dressing up clothes as well as regular events for preschoolers. We are reopening newly restored galleries on Friday this week where the collections have been represented too with some objects deliberately placed at a child's eye height.

Is it accessible to wheelchairs?
National Museums Liverpool
Liverpool, UK
Hello Sue, I can confirm we are fully accessible via ramps and a lift between floors. We can also loan wheelchairs on request & will happily accommodate special requirements where possible with some notice. There is ample parking outside the main entrance also.
We do have some building work taking place at the moment so you may want to call in advance if there's something specific you'd like to see as not every room will be open until late spring

Are there any special exhibitions on at present?
National Museums Liverpool
Liverpool, UK
Hello Hilary.
We have a lovely exhibition on at the moment called Picturing Venice. It features works by artists including JMW Turner, Walter Sickert and Frank Brangwyn, and explores the influence of Venice on British art and culture.
The exhibition also presents a selection of photographs of the ‘City of Water’ taken by pioneering photographer Carlo Ponti, who moved to Venice in 1852 and opened a shop selling photographic souvenirs to tourists.
We are open daily from 10am to 5pm and the exhibition is open until 27 September 2015
