Was quite impressed with some of the views while driving the loop road. Having spent the majority of time hiking the Western United States National Parks I didn't expect much from a park making a big deal out of a summit of 1500 feet. The views however overlooking the water with little islands was unexpected. We weren't with the right... more

If you like to hike, this is a must see national park. Miles and miles of pristine trails--quite often you will find that you feel like you are the only one on the trail. Go in June and eat the wild blueberries lining the trails! See pristine vistas -- you'll feel like you've gone back in time before cell towers... more

We always love Acadia National Park but had not been there since 2000. How wonderful to find that , if anything, the park is even better - the carriage trails are superbly maintained, the Park Rangers give highly informed and entertaining lectures,the toilet facilities are very clean. Trips to Jordan Pond and a feast of popovers with strawberry jelly never... more

One thing about planning a trip to Acadia National Park…wish they could forecast the weather a year ahead of time. It rained most of the time we were there and though that kept the crowds away, it also made some of the “beautiful scenery” difficult to see.
