Schoodic Point provides visitors with a less crowded view of the rocky coast of Maine. It is the first place our granddaughters want to visit when they come for the summer. More importantly, it is just rocks, dikes, and waves- no tourist shops- just rocks, wildflowers and crashing waves. more

I've vacationed in Acadia since I was a child, and I was surprised to see that Schoodic Point (or Schoodic Head) isn't mentioned in the reviews or the park attractions. You have to leave Bar Harbor on Rte. 3, turn right on US 1. About 17 miles then turn right on 186 (Gouldsboro Rd) . Follow 186 for about 7... more
