Guide books fail to adequately describe the beauty especially in the Fall of this 27 mile drive. We especially loved pulling off to the observation areas, many with stone benches allowing us to savor the sites many with views of Frenchman's Bay heading out to the open sea. My teenagers and I did 26-mile Park Loop Road on a cloudy day--very enjoyable! Half of the Loop is one-way, so once you start, you're committed.
