Visitors would be best served by staying at least a day or two and do more than just drive to all the viewpoints. The colors of the sandstone hoodoos, topped with white, then pink, then yellow, and finally red toward the bottom of the canyon, are best appreciated during sunrise and sunset, not midday when most of the casual visitors... more

We hadn't even planned to go to Bryce Canyon on our early May trip to Utah, but the weather was unseasonably warm and it was a perfect time to go there. We chose site # 57 in North Campground and the camp hosts even took our kids for a ride in their golf cart. It was a short walk to... more

Driving into Bryce Canyon National Park seems like entering most any national park area until you turn off at one of the overlooks and look down into an other-worldly expanse of incredible rock formations called hoodoos jutting up from the canyon floor. On a clear day you can see all the way to Navajo Mountain near Page, AZ. Below you... more

There are not enough adjectives to describe Bryce Canyon NP. It is unlike any other place in this country and probably in the world. If you like to hike, hit the trails, there's quite a nice variety. It's so worth hiking down through the hoodoos and into the canyon. You will see an amazing sight around each bend in the... more

Our favorite was sunrise from Inspiration Point and the bristlecone pines near the end of the park road. We hiked Queen's Garden/Navajo Loop, Tropic Trail to Peekaboo and... more

This park was not on our vacation itinerary. Lucky for me, my husband and I didn't stay at the north rim of the Grand Canyon for as long as we had planned. On our way to Denver, we stopped at Bryce Canyon National Park. The hoo-doo formations were spectacular. A walk down a Navajo trail into the canyon is well... more

There are many trails and lots of lookouts if you don't want to hike much. The Paria lookout was my favorite. We saw deer, prairie dogs, and a coyote. more
