My husband and I had the wonderful pleasure of taking the 2 hour horseback riding tour with Canyon Trail Rides on Oct 12, 2009. Being a fairly new rider, we had requested mules instead of horses which turned out great. This is one of the best riding outfits I have ever seen. I was a little leery as I had... more

My husband and I went on this trip on September 16th. We were matched to a horse or mule that suited our confidence level, experience, weight etc. The cowboys were highly experienced and safety conscious. Try to ride with Hank. He is friendly, funny and very calm. He puts everyone at ease. It's a little nerve wracking when your horse... more

In May my husband and I did the 2-hour ride at 2pm. I booked it over the phone a couple months in advance. The company does not have an email address, so you have to confirm it over the phone, send a check for full payment and then they mail you a confirmation. They also send a list of restrictions... more

Our two girls, 10 and 12, had never been on horse/mule before. We had already hiked the bowl the day before but this was still an exciting ride. The mules are relatively well behaved and know exactly what to do. They only spooked once at the end of our ride. But that is a horse for ya. The guide was... more

If you ride every day, then this might be mundane, although still a quick way to see the inner canyon. If you do not have a horse, this is a very enjoyable way to get a good view of the canyon. We did the 2 hour ride and my teen sons found it to be one of the highlights of... more

We only had one day to see Bryce & chose to see it by mule; what a good decision that was! We were able to go all the way to the bottom & back with little effort even though it was in August. The mules were great once you got past the fact that they liked walking the edge of... more

This was one of the highlights of our vacation. Our family of 6 (dh, I and 4 kids-10 yrs old) did the 1/2 day ride. Beau, our cowboy, was fantastic! Our kids were fine-not afraid at all-although the mules are trained to walk close to the edge! The scenery is stunning! Yes your knees and backside ache when you get... more

I booked a morning trail ride for my family of four. My son, age 10, was very nervous about being on a horse. My daughter, age 7, was fine. I told the guide right away, so he could choose the best horses/mules for them. Hank, our guide, was very understanding. Although he started out leading my daughter, when my son... more

Canyon Trail Rides provides you with a really unique way to see Bryce at a great value. I think we paid $65 for the half day trip (which is actually much shorter than advertised), and we got a really good flavor of what the canyon looks like. The cowboys are really cool and helpful and they point out some interesting... more
