people tend to pass this by, thinking its just a small museum. dont let this happen to you! little known secret: bakery items await for the savy customer and the designer is a cafe that is reported a bit high in price(cafe diablo). not for those at the gifford house though. pick from scones, and please dont miss the signature...

We needed some lunch and didn't want to drive out of the park and back to Torrey for a sandwich. The visitor center ranger recommended the Gifford house and let the kids have pie for lunch instead!

I didn't actually go into the museum at the Gifford Homestead, but I did stop in the shop attatched to the home. They had a lot of homemade goodies that looked really good -- scones, jellies, etc. I got the pie -- the one with the variety of berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry,etc).
