people tend to pass this by, thinking its just a small museum. dont let this happen to you! little known secret: bakery items await for the savy customer and the designer is a cafe that is reported a bit high in price(cafe diablo). not for those at the gifford house though. pick from scones, and please dont miss the signature... More

I stopped in after my long hike to Cassidy arch and back- bought a small, delicious pie and a cup of ice cream- perfect snack after the hike! More

We needed some lunch and didn't want to drive out of the park and back to Torrey for a sandwich. The visitor center ranger recommended the Gifford house and let the kids have pie for lunch instead! I didn't actually go into the museum at the Gifford Homestead, but I did stop in the shop attatched to the home. They had a lot of homemade goodies that looked really good -- scones, jellies, etc. I got the pie -- the one with the variety of berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry,etc). It was 5-6 inches in diameter, deep dish... More
