Living close to this attraction, I've visited many times. I love it because you see something different every time. The gators are usually very close and on some days are very active. There's lots of bird activity as well. The adjacent trail, the Gumbo Limbo trail, is more serene but just as lovely. More

We enjoyed the Anhinga Trail which is paved and/or has boardwalks covering the trail. You will see Anhingas and alligators during the winter months. Personally, I preferred Shark Valley Visitor Center. More

My partner and I made the 1.5 hour trip from Miami to Everglades National Park on our last day in the area. We had hoped to do several trails while there, but time got away from us and we only had about 1.5 hours to spend in the park once we finally made it there. This left us only one... More

It's definitely worth doing this short trail if you want to see Everglades wildlife. We were there in April and we saw tons of alligators (from tiny babies to big adults), anhingas swimming underwater and then sitting on the boardwalk handrail to dry out their wings, turtles suddenly dashing out of the way when they realise there's an alligator about... If you do nothing else in South of Mimi do the Anhinga trail. It is a relatively short walk - not more than half a mile loop - along creek nd lagoons. Because it has water during the dry season it is always home to everglades wild life. We never se fewer than 50+ alligators, innumerable birds - depending on... More

Went there yesterday in the afternoon and it was amazing! So beautiful! And when you stop walking and just listen the Everglades come to life. All the animals start making noises. You see gators, turtles, birds, ect More

The best stop we made for a leisurely walk on well kept raised walkway. About 12 miles from US 1 turn off in Florida City but well worth it. Plenty of parking, clean restrooms and the walk is very nice. Saw birds and alligators really close with lovely flora and trees to see. Be sure to take your camera too... More

The trail is a short boardwalk over a sawgrass marsh, where numerous alligators, turtles, snakes, and a variety of species of birds feed and nest. This trail is the must-see spot if you only have time for a short visit to the Everglades. More
