What a wonderful hike this is. My children and I favored this hike but it is hard to really compare hikes/trails as there as so many great ones in this area. Not too bad of a 2-mile walk up to Avalanche Lake but it was humid. Avalanche Gorge is great view and the trail follows the river for a little while. Avalanche Lake is beautiful, a turquoise color and there are several waterfalls in the background. Be sure to walk around the side of the lake to the head of it... more
