What a wonderful hike this is. My children and I favored this hike but it is hard to really compare hikes/trails as there as so many great ones in this area. This hike is more forested (west side) and includes some hiking by a gorge. It is not too arduous a hike. The hike takes you to Avanlanche Lake which... more

Not too bad of a 2-mile walk up to Avalanche Lake but it was humid. Avalanche Gorge is great view and the trail follows the river for a little while. Avalanche Lake is beautiful, a turquoise color and there are several waterfalls in the background. Be sure to walk around the side of the lake to the head of it... more

We did the 4-5 mile round trip hike to Avalanche lake. The hike gains 500 feet. The hike for the first little bit is The Trail fo the Cedar nature trail. It is a wide path and very easy.
