This is the busier side of the canyon and can be quite full of tourists in season...Even in May, there were lots of people, but the views and the shuttle service make it the place to be. Enjoy the beauty, the condors, and watch the people watching the canyon. The reactions of the people around you tell it all! More

Wow, it is a HUGE hole in the ground. Pictures don't do it justice. Neither do words. We only spent a couple of hours meandering around the south rim. Beautiful place. One of the world's wonders for sure. We drove from Vegas and considered going to the West Rim, but i heard that was a rip off so we took... More

The Grand Canyon is beyond description. Photographs cannot portray its beauty. Every moment the light changes and the shadows move. Every direction you look is magnificent. Sunrise at Yavapai Point is almost a religious experience. Sunsets are varied and glorious. I planned to be there for the annular eclipse of the sun on May 20, 2012 and it was all... More

We drove from Vegas for the day. It's a long drive, like four hours. We did the three mile walk from the visitor center and then took the Bright Angel Trailhead and then got on the Hermit bus route to Hopi Point. Next time I would want to be there longer to I could hike the Bright Angel Trailhead and... More

I liked the Desert Rim Road outlooks. You have access by your own car, and can take as long or short as you like. The Hermit Rim Road had nice views, but access was only by their bus. It was slow and took all day. It also had great views. More

If you can't make it to North Rim, this gives a wonderful view of the GC. Lots of folks will share this place with you. More

The Las Vegas to Grand Canyon South Rim bus tour is a 14 to 15 hour trip. Although the bus ride is long( 5 hours each way), the tour is well worth it. Depending upon where your hotel is located, the pick ups begin before 6:00 a.m. and return you to your hotel as late a 10:30 p.m. Since I... More

If you only have a day, the South rim is the place to go. Go to the main village and walk along the rim, then drive east and hit the overlooks. More
