Yeah its early...yeah your keister may be a bit tingly for a day...but the Sunrise Tour was worth every penny. We booked for our second full day in Maui...with Frank picking up us and another couple (super nice folks from Philly) at 2 am. Frank...well let's just say Frank enjoys talking...a lot! Plenty of stories and plenty of history on... more

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Haleakala Bike Company to anyone who can ride a bike and wants to see the Haleakala crater. Do either the sunrise tour or the summit tour. You really miss out on the views from the top if you only do the express tour. In my opinion, the tour of the crater and talking to our tour... more

My wife and I have done 3 different tours biking down the volcano here in Maui. They've all been fun, but this one is by far the best. 1. You ride at your own pace, so you don't need to follow the group. This is great cause you can stop for water or breakfast/lunch and for pictures anywhere along the... more

This was so much fun. We had to get up at o'dark thirty (or earlier) to get to the shop by 0300, but it was worth it. The tour guide (Cory) was oh-so entertaining and quite knowledgeable about the area. The sunrise was stunning! After the sun comes up we were taken to our bikes and away we went. There's... more

The bike tour was great and it was independent which in my opinion is the best and safe way to go. A question about our billing came up at the end if you have the Hawaiian Gold card make sure they are aware of it as it saves you about $30.00 for prebooking the trip. The escorted bike tours have... more

We have just got back from maui, we opted to go on the unguided tour with Haleakala bike co, upon arrival we were greeted by the ever cheerful ( at 4am ) Corey. While we were all trying to wake up the first thing he did was make us a pot of coffee!!!!! and cracking jokes the whole time. We... more

Just today we took the bike ride down Haleakala and had a great time. The rental company Haleakala Bike Company in Haiku was very freindly and the bikes were of better quality than some of the other companies we visited. Our driver and guide (Ryan) was very knowledgeable of the area and gave some wonderful background on the History of... more

I hope this review helps people avoid the terrible experience my wife and I had. As a result of this episode, our boutique hotel will never use this operator (and actually has never heard of them, I found them on the internet). You need to be careful because this has an impact on two days of your vacation. I recommend... more

The careless and cavalier attitude we experienced with Haleakala bike company motivated me to write this... On our way up to the volcano the driver made very little effort to point out the turns we'd be making on the way down, and sure enough we got lost. Unless you're really looking for them, its really easy to bypass the turns.... more
