We took the hike around the rim of a volcano at the national park on the Big Island 2 weeks ago. It was a great hike. It was about 4 miles in length but if you go counter clockwise, the way they recommend, it is a lot easier. Going earlier in the day when it is not so hot is... more
We liked that this build was used by explorers over 100 years ago as an Inn. The fireplace is still used today. Inside there are many pieces of interesting artwork, priced accordingly. We picked up a print of a lava photograph, that was pretty reasonable. It's worth a walkthrough. more
