My husband and I visited Lassen Park in July. It was a wonderful experience-- hiking, gorgeous views, very educational on the recent eruption in 1915 with rock piles everywhere at the base of the mountain. We're also swimmers. I have lived in Northern California for 38 years and Manzanita Lake is my favorite place to go. Even if for only a weekend day, My husband and I may only walk the Lake trail and explore the wonders of the forest but it is the most relaxing place on earth. Manzanita lake is a really beautiful lake and Lassen national park is extraordinary. The park has many beautiful lakes and areas where one can truly appreciate nature and it's beauty. I recommend everyone going camping or visiting the area. more

The lake is absolutely beautiful. One of the prettiest and most photogenic looks at Mt. Lassen. The picnic area is great. You can get a virtual tour of the lake and see the beauty yourself by going to the Google.com search engine and plug in Manzanita Lake, California and go to the virtual tour site.
