Being from Florida you would think we wouldn't want to see another beach, but this was so worth going to. The view is beautiful! There's driftwood, rocks, little caves, tidal pools full of anemonies and giant orange and purple starfish. Very different from Florida! Make sure you stop and spend some time walking along Ruby Beach. more

This is an absolutely amazing place to visit. Beautiful and enchanting, you can easily lose hours of your day just walking the beach. But do plan ahead, the tides can be dangerous and you don't want to hike out further than you can return before the tides trap you. There should be a few things to note here for the... more

As a native flatlander from Texas, I've had the good fortune of visiting Ruby Beach as well as many other scenic areas of the Olympic National Forest. Ruby Beach is not the place to find bikini clad beauties and tons of sun block nor the beach to find vendors hawking everything from hotdogs to sandals. It is truly an inspirational... more

To walk from the parking area to the beach you have to walk on a very short path through trees -- like slowly parting a curtain on a scene you will never forget. Just amazing! Huge driftwood trees lie tumbled together in this quiet final resting place. The gentle Pacific laps at the shore’s soft sand. The amazing and varied... more

If you want to take your family to a beach that can not be beat. Go to Ruby beach, Olympic National Park, Washington. We stopped here while traveling around this area in July 2007. We first checked the tide chart to see when the tide was going to be low and when it would start coming back in. That was... more

I hesitate to write this review about Ruby Beach, as I'd much rather have the place all to myself whenever I visit! Ruby Beach has to be my most favorite of all beaches - including the tropical beaches in the Caribbean and Hawaii. Ruby Beach is much different from your white-sand beaches; it is rugged terrain, covered with rocks of... more

About halfway up the Pacific Coast on highway 101 is a roadside sign for Ruby Beach. We pulled over expecting a typical lookout and were rewarded with one of the most beautifal beaches in the world and yes I have been to Hawaii, Florida and the Carribean. This is a must stop for anyone driving the Pacific Coast side of... more

My husband and I have been to Ruby Beach at least once a year every summer. The last couple of years we've gone more than usual. We have seen every beach on the coast of Washington and some of Oregon's beaches. Ruby Beach is our favorite by far. It seems like an "out of the way" hide-a-way but it's really... more

A beautiful beach, it was stolen by the US government like much of the land in our park systems. Next time you are in the parking lot at Ruby Beach, look at the non-native trees. Where did they come from? more

This last summer myself and a long time friend of mine decided to take the day off and visit Ocean Shores, Washington. After arriving to Ocean Shores and hanging out there a couple hours we began to head back to Olympia or so we thought and discovered we had been traveling the wrong way on Highway 101 for some time.... more
