We only had a few hours to spend in Olympic National Park, so we couldn't drive to the western rainforest area. What a beautiful surprise this lake is! Hwy 101 winds back and forth around a mountain here, and suddenly it looks like Alaska! This is remarkable scenery, with a different vista every hundred feet. What a treat! My brother and I were driving around the Olympic penninsula when we came to Crescent Lake. Totally unprepared for it's beauty. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stay, but I am definitely going to visit there for an extended stay in the future. more
The sunnier it is the more blue the water is, as soon as you round that corner and head down you see it's wonderful glow. I've never seen such clear blue water in my life.
