This is one of those cases where it's definitely location, location, location that matters! I first went to the Alpine Visitor's Center in 1971 when my grandparents took me up Trail Ridge Road and around the park. It's like an old friend and place and I love visiting. That said, if this center was anyplace else than perched at the...

Is the scenery any better here than in other parts of the park? Of course, that's a judgement call. When we visited, trails to higher elevations were closed, so I could not take my guests up there (where I consider the best views from this location to be). Personally, I think that many other parts of the park have slightly...

Good place to stop after driving up Trail Ridge Road from either the East or Wester Slopes. Great views and a nice little coffee shop.

Great staff and the best way to get the Park's inside scoop.

The visitors' center here offers sweeping vistas that are breath-takingly lovely. Mrs. Reviewer hiked the 4-mile Ute trail down to the next-nearest stopping point. She enjoyed seeing many elk. Did not enjoy seeing many people who should not be hiking (even downhill) at altitude who were carrying no water and liked like a medical evacuation waiting to happen. If you're...

A Visitor Center should have 3 things I think; a store of sorts, rangers and brochures, and exhibits of things that can be found in the park, whether animals or features or artifacts. Throughout this park, the visitor centers are primarily storyboards, rather than displays of artifacts or other physical exhibits. I understand why they do this, but a storyboard...

This visitor center was at the peak of our journey on trail ridge road. The sights were amazing. The kids were hungry and the restaurant was just a bunch of overpriced sandwiches which we happily paid to fill the boys bellies. But overall just a wonderful place to look at the mountain tops.
