The Alpine Visitor Center is located high in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It is located where Old Fall River Road meets Trail Ridge Road, and you can access it from either road. The view from the Visitor Center is amazing, and for an even better view, hike the 1/2 mile trail uphill from the Visitor Center to the peak.... more
This was a small visitor center on the middle of Trail Ridge Road. Inside there were very friendly rangers who were able to answer all of our questions. There is also a small exhibit on animals in the park. When we went there was a lot a snow piled up around the building and it was very cold and windy.... more
We took our two boys, ages 3 and 7 up the old highway to the Alpine Visitor Center. I recommend taking the OLD highway up to the center if your vehicle is able (we drove a Ford Expedition and made it just fine, and I saw many people in cars).
