Mineral King is a hidden jewel in the Sierras. A lot of people don't even bother to check it out probably because of the long, winding, one lane road to get there but it is one of the most beautiful places to go. My husband and I visited Mineral King for 4 days over the 4th of July weekend. We had been several times to other parts of the park, but not to this remote area. The 20 final miles of the trip on a narrow, windy road takes 2 hours, but it is beautiful and the rewards are well worth the effort.... more
