the trail around the lake is nice. You can take your time to walk around the lake and enjoy the beauty of the lake and trees.
We were only here for a day but we found it a lovely peaceful place to be. The lake is very pretty and we did a pleasant walk around it at dusk. The camp sites near the lake looked to be the best spots, we were up on the hill whilst quiet when we were there it could I think... More
Picturesque little lake with a privately run store and gasoline sales. It is located on NF land and contains a private religious camp. The day I was there had wonderful weather and the trail around the lake was well traveled. There was a rock concert and plenty of teen campers. By the time you hike past Sandy Cove, it is... More
This was our first time to Hume Lake. We spent an hour walking around the lake and there were many people in the water.
We stopped here for lunch on our way to Cedar Grove area. There's a beautiful lake here where there's swimming and boating. A Christian camp runs sessions for families and campers. But other people can come and eat at the deli or snack shop. We got some food at the snack shop. Price was reasonable although we had to wait... More
Hume Lake is one of the few places to go for a nice afternoon swim in Sequoia & Kings Canyon. The spot to go to is Sandy Cove beach which is a little way up the road from the Christian camp. There's a small sand beach there and the water is pretty warm. It has space available on both sides... More
Came there to take some pictures of some birds and ducks. Unfortunately, it was extremely packed with kids and families. Disappointed. The view wasn't that spectacular either.
This lake is a beautiful oasis and the history of the area is interesting, but you should know that this is the home to a Christian Camp and can be very crowded in the summer. There's a trail that goes all the way around the lake and is a very easy and pleasant hike.
with temperatures in the 100s we needed somewhere to cool off (the rangers warned of death if we swam in the creeks!) Hume lake provided it.. Go for sandy beach and miss out on the main town which is packed!
I love to go hiking in the mountains early morning and then head over to Hume Lake in the afternoon. It's a great place to bring your Bible, any magazine or book, music, or simply just sit and enjoy the beauty that is Hume! I love Hume over any of the other lakes around here just because you can go... More
