Easy too! Try to find a ranger or naturalist giving a tour while you're walking on the trail. It's neat to get all of the background of the trees and area :) More

It is a beautiful drive to get up to the Trail of 100 Giants, and that's part of the fun. I love making the drive from Bakersfield up through the Kern River Canyon, lunch in Kernville, and then the drive along the Great Western Divide Highway, with a stop in the afternoon to walk the Trail of 100 Giants. This hike is one of the greatest. Anyone can do it, short enough for Grandma and 2 year old, but so enjoyable- fresh air, mountain breeze and sounds of the breeze in the trees....aaahhhh! More

Check before hand to see if it is open, there has been some weather related damage. This is an easy hike through and around trees that are over a thousand years old, some have trunks that are large enough for a car to drive through. More

Since it was the off season, we saw only two other people the entire time we were wandering along the trail. The entire pathway is paved and wheelchair accessible. An ancient tree had just fallen across part of the... More

A nice adventure, half the battle was getting there. We went in early November. it had snowed for the first time the night before. Temperatures quickly dropped as we travelled further up the mountain. At one point, it seemed like there was a line separating the snow covered area and the dry area. Trees became dusted with snow and the... More
