Admission is free. Which is a good thing, since there's not much worth seeing in here. The building is an attempt to convert the "Giant Forest Market" into the "Giant Forest Museum" (if you look up at the sign from the inside of the building, you can see that they just turned it around). The Giant Forest Museum answers questions about the sequoias in ways children can easily understand. For example, one display shows the size of the General Sherman Tree compared to a stack of elephants, the space shuttle, the tallest giant redwood, the Titanic, and the giant tule cypress in Mexico. It is a small museum that explains the history, geology and fauna of the area. Admission was free and had a small gift shop selling books posters and post cards etc. We were there in Oct. 2007 and found the inventory was low. Most of the items we requested were not available.
