I'ts a small visiter center, but attractive and in a beautiful setting. A very nice nature trail nearby and nice boat launch ramp. More

As I write I am spending my last day on the lake in voyageurs national park on lake namakon. It has been a great experience. I dent find options to review the things and places I really wanted to recommend to future visitors so I'll write them here as this was the closest point to where we spent our time.... More

I loved Voyageurs National Park. Ash River Visitor Center is probably the least visited out of Rainy, and Kabetogama, but that is the best. The Rangers/Volunteers give you their full attention and explain the history and activities. I really enjoyed the low number of people in the park. We drove from Chicago to Voyageurs National Park. Our first stop in the park was at Ash River Visitor Center. We went to multiple lookouts and guess what? There was no one except us at any of these lookouts in the middle of summer. That upset us..common...this is a national park.. Well, the trails aren't well kept. You can't see... More
