What a great experience! We had so much fun. We had the Zion Adventure Company shuttle us up to Cattleman's Ranch for $30. Then we were off. You hike beside the river at first, but then you walk through it about 50% of the time. We camped at campsite 9. It was awesome! Make sure that you take trekking poles.... more

We just did this hike and it's spectacular, but some preparation and foreknowledge is important. There were people out there barefooted or in flip-flops and you won't get far like that. The water is cold; our experience was that it wasn't bad on the legs but in the one or two places where it's thigh-deep or more, it was chilly... more

My wife and I did this wonderful hike in late September. It was one of the best hikes we've ever done. The hike is not terribly strenuous, but it can slow going. How slow you go depends on how comfortable you are walking through moving water on slippery rocks when you can't see into the water very well. It's not... more

We are a hiking family (teenagers and adults) and were expecting something strenuous. Imagine my delight when it turned out to be a wonderful, relaxing, invigorating, breathtaking, easy and very do-able hike up a river canyon. Wall Street was fabulous....you felt like you could touch both sides of the canyon at the same time! The teenagers (boy and girl) just... more

YES, the river is very rocky, YES you can not see the bottom, and YES most of us fell in the water, but it is a great hike. We decided to go without walking sticks, but we did have water appropriate shoes. Those with sticks seemed to fair better. 4 of the 6 of us are novice hikers at best.... more

We enjoyed our hike in the narrows, but after so many raves here I expected it to be more stunning than it was. I absolutely can't imagine this hike without a hiking stick to help gauge the water depth as well as to support against the current. The shoe rental ones looked cumbersome as they are wooden, resembling a 5-6... more

I was very disappointed in that I REALLY wanted to do this hike. I have heard so many beautiful things about it. However my girlfriend and I had to turn back after just 200 yards because we could not see where we were walking and the bottom is VERY rocky and uneven. I am used to walking in the rivers... more

We just returned from a trip that tooks us to Zion for a few days. We took an entire day to hike the Narrows. We absolutely loved it. During the trip, we visited Grand Canyon, rafted on the Colorado (still water rafting), went to Bryce and more....and the Narrows was at the top of everyone's list. We hiked about 3... more

This is one of the most awesome and spectacular hikes in the world. Believe me, I have been around the world a few times. To do it for just a few hours from the bottom up is great if that's all the time you have. But the best way is to do it top-down, in other words, catch a shuttle... more

My husband and I took a trip in October, 2008 to Zion. My husband has never been and I have been 3 times, but I have never hiked the narrows. It was the most amazing experience for me, and for my husband who is a advid fan of Yosemite, was completley amazed and can't wait to go again next year... more
