Unfortunately, another death at Angels Landing on Friday. Prayers to the family. I just climbed AL last Tuesday. I really hope that they keep the trail open for adults. Adults are capable of knowing the risk (there are a number of warning signs on the trail) and their limitations. I must admit that I was dumbfounded by the number of... more

I did the hike in mid-September. We started early, which is absolutely neccessary during summer. The first and biggest part of just walking up is pretty straight forward. The most amazing part is the last 0.5 mile of course. Im afraid of heights, not too much, yet I was pretty scared when going up. You dont have too. I dont... more

After psyching myself up for this hike the last few months, I can honestly say that no trip to Zion should be with out it. Actually I loved it so much I'm all ready looking for more hikes just like it. (Half-dome, El Capitan etc.) The first two miles to do ascend rather quickly and are by no means easy.... more

The hike and views that it offers are fantastic. A couple of pieces of advice - if you are not used to high altitudes do not do this hike on your first day at Zion. We did the much easier Emerald Pools hike on the first day and saved this for the second morning. It's much better to do this... more

We hiked Angel's Landing for the second time yesterday. I am four years older now than the first time (I'm now a 77 year old female) and I was worried that it might be harder for me. It really wasn't and I was pleased about that. The hard work part is getting up to the chains. The chains are actually... more

Our entire trip to Zion National Park was spectacular from start to finish, but the crowning acheivement of the trip was the climb to the top of Angel's Landing. The adventure truly begins about a half mile from the peak, as the paved trail ends and the drop-offs on each side of the path are staggering. This hike is best... more

I went on this hike with my wife, my friend and his wife - all in our late 20s to early 30s. My wife and I are in relatively okay shape, and my friend and his wife hike quite a bit. (I'll mention that I have a bit of acrophobia) With that said, this hike was exhausting at times, especially... more

What a fantastic hike! First of all, you should not be afraid of heights at all to do this hike. Wear good hiking boots (we actually saw people in running shoes and sandals!). If you walk carefuly and take your time it is absolutely doable for most of the people. The view from the top is wonderful. We started early... more

This is an absolutely beautiful and exciting hike, but you have to be aware that you are risking death in choosing to do it. I don't think Zion National Park accurately explains the risk in describing the hike. One ranger in the visitors center described it to me as "very safe". Let me compare it to some other hikes in... more

We just returned from hiking Angels Landing on Aug. 5th. 2009. We were celebrating my friend and my 50th birthday. We decided to hike this as we are used to doing 8 to 10 milers up in the Tetons. I thught this climb was quite challenging as it was quite a rapid ascent. My two friends opted to not do... more
