Go if you have a car or bike(Only 2 buses up everyday 7plus am and 3.10pm from chiayi station). Or else it's just for trekking. The old street is relatively smaller compared to Jiufen and Shifen but does has it's charm.

Had lots of fun visiting this small town - from drinking coffee in the old style grocery at the bottom of the hill, sampling the wares of 'fig jelly uncle' and 'special cake aunt', wandering round the bamboo groves and eating the traditional tiffin near the station. A memorable village.

We had a great bento dinner there which is highly recommended by the local guide. Something not very tourist.
