I have been coming to Anguilla for over 20 years. Sandy Ground is the place to be. A great mix of locals and tourists. There are 8 restaurants/ bars, some with live music. My favourite is the Reagae Reef. Great food , good entertainment and the beer is only $2. Johnnos Beach Bar has great jazz every Sunday afternoon. Roys... more

everyone knows about Shoal Bay, which is why it is packed, if you want to see where the locals go come to Sandy Ground, soft sandy beach you would expect from Anguilla, not to mention the crystal clear sea, perfect if you are sailing as the other reviewer mentioned, and if you like Jazz come along on a Sunday for... more

Sandy Ground is the spot to check in with customs and to use as the home depot when sailing to Anguilla. Good anchoring and adequate protection make this an excellent overnite or longer place to stay. A short dinghy ride to shore puts you at the customs/policy station and as soon as your finished.....25 ft down the beach is Johnos... more
