Shirley Heights is very picturesque and on Sunday's starting at 4pm they have a party with steel drum music and local arts and crafts for sale i.e. mini steel drums, beaded jewellery. Not what we'd expected, our mini bus was one of the last to arrive or so it seems because the place was crowded and there was nowhere to sit when we arrived. Good band, good food and an amazing view of the sun going down but after an hour we wanted to leave. Everyone on our minibus felt the same.... more

Heard and read a lot about this spot and had high expectations. Entirely packed with tourists, unmistakably overpriced for the island ($12 US for a mediocre hamburger?!), did not take credit cards and it's an awfully long ride to get there, at least from the north side where we came from.
