I found my visit to George Washington House to be a very interesting and informative experience. The visit begins with a video that describes George Washington's time in Barbados, and the influence it had on him. Then a tour guide takes you around the grounds and the main floor of the house. Then you go to the upstairs where there... More

All over America we hear "GW slept here"... didn't know we'd find that in Barbados! We visited the changing of the guards at the Garrison and discovered there was a special open house at the GW house so we meandered on over. As with all house tours in Barbados, they are very open, relaxed and allow you access to much!... More

I HAVE to attend an event once a year here. It isn't a museum, there is nothing special about the grounds, and the whole thing is a disappointment. Even if you're a history buff, it is quite a disappointment. More

Interesting diversion. Hadn't even realised he had been out in Barbados and whilst I felt that the locals had maybe over stated the case for the influence it may have had on him I thought it was all put together very well. More

The staff were welcoming. The film was informative. We had a personal tour which well conducted and enlightening. Glad we dropped in whilst visiting the Garrison. More

Barbados is the only place outside the US George Washington ever visited. Significantly, Washington came down with smallpox, which made him immune to the illness that devastated his troops in the Revolutionary War. This and other details make for a fascinating visit. The house has been beautifully preserved and a real treat to visit. More
