My husband and I took a break from diving and spent a morning windsurfing in Lac Bay- had a blast. We signed up for a lesson; Gavin our instructor was very helpful. Once we had the basics, it was a blast to surf around the bay. The water is shallow enough to stand in and there was a wide range... More

It's on the less famous east coast. A nice inlet that provides a refuge from the comparatively rough seas. However, no corals here. Instead, windsurf or look at other stuff under the water. A few nice hotels, cooler and breezier than the west side. More

Turquoise-blue water, 50-70 cm shallow, totally cristaline. What else you need for the safety and joy of your young kids??????? This is the best beach I have ever been with young kids (7 yr and 2.5 yr old ones). I've been to aruba, miami, cancun, margarita. Lac Bay rules!!!!!! More

Just to be clear, there are different reviews on tripadvisor both called lac Bay buth these are 2 different locations. You can visit the bay on the south part ( windsurf / sorobon) or the north path. This review is about the north part of the bay. This location is not a afternoon filling attraction unless you want to pick-nick... More

I'd recommend Lac Bay for families with small children due to the shallow waters and beach availability. There really isn't much in terms of beaches in Bonaire, and definitely not a destination I'd go for anything other than diving, but if you are the unfortunate non diver traveling with divers, this would be the ideal location if you are looking... It was amazing to see all those Conch Shells at Lac Bay. It was very peaceful at this beach and there was actually a very long sandy beach (a rarity in Bonaire) since most beaches are very rocky in Bonaire. It is a beautiful day spot for hanging out at the beach and snorkeling. More

During our recent visit to Bonaire, we headed to Lac Bay for some swimming and time on the beach. We were thrilled to find that we had the entire area to ourselves for the majority of our visit. The water was clear and the sand beach (a rarity on the island) was clean. Some much appreciated shade is also available... More

If you are a lounge by the beach kind of person this is the place to go! We brought our floatie-rafts and beer and LOVED IT! We wernt on the windsurfing side...but on the Cai Beach side (keep driving on dirt road past the butterfly farm and large Conch Shell piles) NOT CROWDED...We only saw 1 or 2 other people...and... Lac Bay is a windsurfer's & sun worshipper's dream spot. It's a thigh deep, warm water ocean lagoon on the east side of Bonaire. You can pick up big Queen conch in the shallows. The wind blows onshore toward the blinding white beach, and an outer reef stops the waves, making it an ideal place to learn windsurfing at one... More
